I went on a walk yesterday.

I went on a walk to the near by woods with a friend yesterday. I try to go on nature walks often but this one turned out to be a very special one for me. We walked for quite a bit until we decided to sit by the water. It was a pleasant summer day and we were enjoying watching the different birds feed, relax, and take shade from the summer sun. We saw a few Red-winged blackbirds whizz by and were mesmerized by the bright pops of color in the bird's wings.

While watching Red-wing's we noticed what seemed to be a few hawks circling above us. We didn't pay that much attention to it till I noticed one of the birds doing something a bit differently. It stopped while circling and it seemed like it was doing quick calculations to align with something in the water. The bird then kept circling and gaining altitude. After a few more adjustments it let its body go for a second, loosening all of its limbs and muscles and slowly rotating forward into a diving position. Once it was ready to do the dive I could feel that the bird prepared all its life for this very moment.

Watching the bird follow thru with the dive, pick its target up, and go back up in the sky gracefully was watching a master at work. It was such a raw and beautiful sight to see. It had me thinking about that feeling when you're about to enter the moment that you've waited, worked, and prepared all your life for. It's an exhilarating feeling and to be able to do it over and over again is a privilege.

I thought I'd share this experience with you all.
